Solar Storage Solutions
In today’s environmentally conscious world, Solar Storage is an increasingly popular system that captures energy and stores it to perform operations in the future. These Systems involve converting many forms of energy, such as electrical potential energy or kinetic energy, into more economically storable formats for short-term and long-term use.
Panasonic product solutions include Relays, Passive Components, such as Capacitors, Metal Oxide Varistors, and more.
Solar Inverter Systems are also used to convert the direct current (DC) of a photovoltaic (PV) solar panel into an alternating current (AC) which then are fed into commercial or residential electrical grids. Solar Inverters have a particular function known as Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) to retrieve the maximum possible power from the PV array. In addition, Panasonic provides Power Inductors, Capacitors, Connectors, ESD Suppressors, and Resistors to maximize the performance of the Solar Inverter System.

Featured Relays For Solar Storage
HE-S SERIES RELAYS
The HE-S Series is a compact Power Relay with low operating power and high-capacity switching. This Relay features contacts with long electrical life and a high-capacity resistive switching load rating of 35A at 277VAC for 50,000 cycles. This Relay also features a mirror contact structure (compliant with EN60947-4-1) which uses a 2 Form A coupled with a 1 Form B contact arrangement. The HE-S Series Relays are suitable for Solar related applications where safety cut-off to 10kW or less solar inverter (AC side) is required.
HE SERIES RELAYS PV TYPE
Panasonic's HE Series Relays PV Type is available in three different contact ratings: 35A, 48A, or 90A. These Relays have a 1 Form A (SPST-NO) contact arrangement in a PC Board mountable small case size. The HE Series Relays feature the minimum contact gap and 2.5kW surge breakdown required by photovoltaic standard requirements. The HE Series Relays are suitable for Solar related applications where safety cut-off to 30-50kW solar inverter (AC side) is required.
HE-N Series Relays
Panasonic's HE-N Series General Power Relays feature high switching capacity of 120A @ 480VAC or 55A @ 800VAC in a 1 Form A (SPST-NO) contact arrangement. Offering a compact size of 50mm x 40mm x 43mm, HE-N Relays can be mounted on a PC Board without screw terminals for easier design and faster board assembly. The HE-N Series Relays are suitable for Solar related applications where safety cut-off to 100kW solar inverter (AC side) is required.
HE-V Series Relays
The HE-V Series is a High Capacity Power Relay with up to 1000VDC, 20A cut-off capability. With reduced coil holding voltage, these DC Relays offer significant energy savings. The smaller profile of the environmentally resistant HE-V Relay provides savings in PCB space. The HE-V Series also feature 2 Form A contact arrangement and sealed construction. The HE Series Relays are suitable for Solar related applications where safety cut-off to solar inverter (DC side) / Rapid Shutdown is required.
AQV258H5 SERIES HE 1 FORM A TYPE PHOTOMOS® RELAYS
Panasonic's AQV258H5 Series HE 1 Form A Type PhotoMOS® Relays in a DIP6 Package offers a 1500V high voltage capability with switching reliability and application safety in Battery Monitoring Systems (BMS). The AQV258H5 Series are suitable for Solar applications where battery insulation solutions are required for leakage detection.
GE 2 FORM A SERIES PHOTOMOS® RELAYS
The GE 2 Form A Series PhotoMOS® Relays apply to 2 Form A use and two independent 1 Form A use, ranging from Output rating of 60V 500mA to 600V 40mA, with an I/O isolation voltage of 5000Vrms (reinforced). These are available in 8 pin DIP through-hole or surface mount. The GE 2 Form A Series Relays are suitable for Solar related Battery Cell Group Monitoring Systems.
Optimum Relay Configuration for Solar Inverters
AC Side Only
HE Series Relays PV Type provide the necessary high switching capacity and low power consumption required by energy management applications. They also feature the minimum contact gap and 2.5kW surge breakdown required by photovoltaic standard requirements.
HE-S Series compact Power Relays feature contacts with long electrical life and a high-capacity resistive switching load rating of 35A at 277VAC for 50,000 cycles. These Relays are RoHS/Reach compliant as well as compliant with VDE126 and EN61810-1 Standards.
LF-G Series Relays provide excellent creepage, clearance and breakdown voltage. Offered with a 1.8mm contact gap, these Relays can handle switching capacities up to 33A 250VAC.

DC Side Only
HE-V (2a, 20A 1,000V DC*)
The high-voltage, high-capacity HE-V Series Relays are capable of simultaneously cutting off the positive (+) and negative (-) terminal by serially connecting the 1 Form A contact up to 1,000V DC cutoff. They feature a compact size and contribute to energy savings due to reduced coil holding voltage.
*1,000V DC is the maximum allowable voltage when each 1 Form A contact is connected in series. The rating is 800V DC.
AQZ PhotosMOS (1a 10A 60V DC)
AQZ PhotoMOS Relays have high-capacity up to 6A in a slim 4-pin package. Capable of frequent switching and improving system reliability, AQZ PhotoMOS Relays have AC/DC dual use with low on-resistance and high sensitivity. As well, they contain low-level off state leakage current of max. 10 μA.
EP (1a 10A~300A 1,000V DC*)
EP Series high-voltage, compact DC Contactors offer a high capacity of a maximum of 1,000 Volt DC cutoff. With capsule contact construction, these DC Contactors are compact and generate little operating sound, even when large currents are cut off.
*1,000V DC is the maximum allowable voltage. The rating is 400V DC.
