Panasonic's CW Series Relay is an Automotive Relay used for failsafe circuits in high output motors such as electronic power steering (EPS). This relay has a DPST (2FormA) contact arrangement, which is ideal for the 2-path cutoff of a 3-phase motor using a single coil. This relay has an SPDT (1FormC) contact arrangement and uses a 12VDC coil with a maximum pick-up voltage of 7.2VDC and 1.4W nominal operating power.

Using a high conductivity material, the nominal resistive load switching of the CW Series Relay is 120A @ 14VDC. However, this relay can also carry 70A for 1 minute or 45A continuously at 85 Degrees Celsius. The CW Series Relay employs high heat resistance plastic which can withstand ambient operating temperatures up to 125 degrees Celsius.
