The Panasonic P4S Shield Type (0.4mm Pitch) Series Connectors are 0.4mm Pitch Board-To-Board and Board-To-FPC solutions with a 1.5mm Mated Height and 3.8mm Width. P4S Shield Type Series Connectors reduce radiation noise by making use of a shield plate containing multiple ground terminals every 6 pins for easy pin assignment that is compatible with differential signal transmission. The improved EMI Shielded Connector helps prevent noise interference from nearby components such as antennas.

P4S Shield Type (0.4mm Pitch) Series Connectors have a footprint that is the same as the existing standard Panasonic P4S Series Connectors and also feature the Panasonic Tough Contact construction consisting of bellow contacts. This means that the contacts are bent rather than stamped out for a smoother finish and enhanced spring characteristics that provide greater resistance to shock and vibration forces. The P4S Shield Type (0.4mm Pitch) Series also feature a double contact "V-notch" construction, thus increasing the contact pressure and eliminating flux and other foreign matters more effectively than conventional products and preventing them from obstructing the contact.

The P4S Shield Type (0.4mm Pitch) Series also features a simple lock structure which creates an audible and tactile click sensation during mating to ensure that they have been mated properly.

All Panasonic Connectors employ an exposed Nickel-plated barrier to prevent solder from creeping up the terminal despite the ultra-low profile of the contact. Additionally, each contact also includes a porosity treatment membrane to resist corrosive gas environments and allow for lower insertion force during mating.
